Audrey's smile says it all! She recently celebrated her first birthday surrounded by her incredible nurses who took such great care of her during her time at Children's.

After Audrey was born, as her parents were ready to embark on the journey of parenthood, one of our cardiologists discovered a rare condition in Audrey’s heart—an extremely large coronary artery fistula. Within an hour, they were transported to our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).

At five days old, Audrey underwent a life-saving open heart bypass surgery, under the care of Dr. Rosenblum. It was a successful surgery, and she was discharged on Valentine’s Day, which also happens to be National Congenital Heart Defect Day. Now, she’s thriving and looks forward to her check-ups when she gets to see her care team.
