The Vickers family first turned to the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center in 2006 when their oldest son, Austin, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Nearly 10 years later, the Vickers noticed their middle son, Jake, had swollen lymph nodes. They took him to the pediatrician and experienced the unthinkable: Jake was diagnosed with ALL.

After thinking their time at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center was over, the Vickers family found themselves back on the same unit. Jake’s journey has not been easy, but he is now in the maintenance phase of his treatments and has six months left of outpatient chemotherapy.
